Nesam Scan privacy policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
Nesam Scan is a document scanner made by Nesam for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version
Nesam Scan does not collect, store or share any of your personal data. There is no account, no cloud service, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Your scans stay on your device
Everything the app does happens on your phone: finding page edges, cleaning up images, reading text (OCR), creating PDFs and placing signatures. Your scans are stored only in the app's own storage on your device. Nothing is sent to Nesam or to anyone else.
Where your files go
Files leave the app only when you choose to send them, for example when you save to Photos, Files, Gallery or Downloads, share, print, or add a business card to Contacts. Those actions use your phone's built-in features, and the files then follow the privacy settings of the place you sent them to.
Permissions on iPhone
- Camera: to scan documents. Images are processed on your device only.
- Photos: to import photos you pick and to save scans when you ask.
- Contacts: only when you choose to add a scanned business card as a new contact.
You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
On Android
The Android app asks for no permissions and has no internet access at all, so it cannot send anything anywhere. The camera screen is Google's document scanner, which runs inside Google Play services on your phone and processes the images on the device; Google Play services is covered by Google's privacy policy. Photos you import are chosen with Android's photo picker, which gives the app only the pictures you select. Text recognition runs on the phone.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
